Do I need my own car insurance for in-car lessons?
No, you do not need your own car insurance for in-car driving lessons with Package 2 or higher. The instructor’s vehicle is fully insured for training purposes.
How do I get my driving certification for an insurance discount?
After completing the course, your BDE certification is recorded electronically with the MTO. You can request a Driver’s License History (DLH) report from ServiceOntario to provide proof of course completion to your insurance company.
How many lessons do I need to pass my G2 test?
The MTO requires at least 10 hours of in-car lessons in an approved course, but the number of lessons needed depends on your skill level. On average, new drivers take 15–20 hours to feel fully prepared for the G2 test.
How soon can I take my G2 test?
BDE graduates can take their G2 test after 8 months, instead of the usual 12 months.
Is the course fully online?
Yes, our classroom portion is fully remote, so you can complete the theory lessons from the comfort of your home.
